Ghostbusters set for comeback?

Two writers from the US version of The Office have been recruited to pen a new
Ghostbusters film, it has been reported.
Perhaps inspired by the success of
Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, Columbia Pictures has asked Emmy-nominated writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky to write the screenplay for a third instalment in the series.
It is thought that the original cast of
Bill Murray, 58,
Dan Aykroyd, 57,
Harold Ramis, 64, and
Ernie Hudson, 63 could make a return if the project goes ahead.
Ghostbusters and it sequel were massive hits in the 1980s, with the first film raking in some $291 million (£165 million) across the globe.
However, a third film was shelved due to the rising costs of getting the cast together as they found independent fame.
It appears this will no longer be an issue, however, as only Murray has had high-profile roles in recent years.
No indication has yet been given as to whether
Sigourney Weaver and
Rick Moranis would return for the proposed film.
